Osman admits players let themselves down against Stevenage
Captain Abdul Osman has told Crewe Alex Player that he was ‘left distraught’ by Tuesday night’s performance and result against Stevenage. Crewe started the game sluggishly and were out of it as a contest by the 20th minute after the visitors had raced into a three goal lead.
If left Osman completely puzzled after what had been a mini-revival for the Alex in our previous encounters against Preston North End and Bristol City.
Osman told the club’s official web-site: “We let ourselves down against Stevenage because we came into the game on the back of two good results and two fairly good performances.
“It left us really disappointed and I was distraught afterwards because we don’t want to be making mistakes and winning one and losing one. We all want to be climbing the league table and having that consistency back.
“The only good thing is that we have a big game against Sheffield United coming up on Saturday and it is the perfect chance to lift ourselves after a poor night. We have got to keep going and get back on track.”
