City loan starlet hopes to make his senior debut this weekend
Crewe Alexandra’s latest loan acquisition George Evans has settled into life at the Alexandra Stadium quite quickly and the Manchester City youngster is hoping he will fulfil a life ambition by making his senior debut on Saturday.
Steve Davis will continue to assess the England Youth International and will decide after tomorrow’s final session whether the 18-year-old will start against Bradford City or come off the bench at some point.
Evans has captained City’s Under-21s and has been on the first-team bench for a Champions League group game, and now he is eager to play competitive football.
February, George told Crewe Alex Player: “I know I will benefit from a loan spell at Crewe and having the change to play competitive football. I am just eager to get going and show what I can do. rdAfter signing on loan until 3
“Hopefully I will go straight in on Saturday (against Bradford), that decision is up to the manager. I have come here to play and hopefully I will a chance to do that this weekend.
They are good lads here and it has a real family atmosphere to it. The lads have been great with me and I have been able to settle in quickly. It is a fairly young group and I know Max Clayton and Ben Garratt from the England set-up, so that has also helped.
“I am the sort of midfield player, who likes to break up play, get on the ball and get the team playing. I want to help us get forward and find the forward players to make us a threat. That is what the manager wants me to do.
George added: “I want to get as many games in as I can and then if they want to extend it, as long as things are going well, I'd be happy to do that as it is such a great club.”
