Steve praise for the attitude of Moore and Tootle on tough night

The Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis admits that we was starved of positives to take from last night’s disappointing home defeat to Stevenage but did praise the attitude of his consistent performers Matt Tootle and Bryon Moore.

The two Academy graduates continued to try and make things happen against a well organised and drilled Stevenage defence and Davis reiterated that Moore and Tootle continue to set the example.

Steve told crewealex.net: “There weren’t many positives to take from our performance. We managed to keep it to 0-0 in the second half but perhaps we were a bit lucky to do that.

“I also thought the performances of Toots and Byron were encouraging but I’ve been saying that for a few weeks now. Tootle was by far our best player but he has been so far this season.

“Bryon kept going and tried things. He did some good things and his attitude to keep going was good. No-one was exceptional for us and we need to get to the high standard I expect.”
