Defender says Notts County will provide tricky test in search of points

Adam Dugdale has already faced Saturday’s opponents Notts County this season and the recalled defender says Crewe Alexandra have another tough test at Meadow Lane this weekend. Dugdale was a part of the Tranmere Rovers side that was recently beaten 2-0 at Meadow Lane and he will stress to his team-mates that Crewe will have to perform to their expected level to get a result.

Dugdale returned to the club earlier this week following a successful loan spell at Prenton Park and the game time he achieved there has put him in contention for his first stat of the season for us this weekend.

Ahead of his return to first-team action the Liverpool-born defender said: “It was just nice to be backing playing football and I thank everyone at Tranmere for giving me the opportunity to do that. They were great with me and the supporters thought I was doing a good job for them, so that tells you everything about how much I enjoyed it.

“I am back at Crewe now and I am fitter and raring to go. I just want to keep playing now and get a good run of games to show our fans that I can do the job and help out here.

“I have already faced Notts County a few weeks ago and they good against Tranmere. They have had a similar start to us and it will be really tough if we are not on our game.

“They are a big club and the stadium is a nice place to play, so we will be ready. We have prepared properly and hopefully we will come away with a good result. I cannot wait to get going again.”
