Defender to undergo fitness test today to rejoin training
Defender Harry Davis will undergo the club’s fitness test with conditioning coach Andy Franks to see if he will receive the green light to resume full training. Any player who has been out for a long period of time through injury has to hit a level of fitness before they are permitted to re-join first team training.
Tomorrow night’s home game against Stevenage will come soon for the centre-half but he could be involved at Sheffield United if he can prove his fitness levels. Davis will come in on his day off on Wednesday to train with the club’s scholars to work on his fitness after missing the last month.
Steve Davis explained to the club’s official web-site: “Harry has been working very hard and it is testimony to the hard work he and the physio’s have put in that he is back ahead of schedule.
“It was thought that he would be out for 6-8 weeks so to be back after four weeks shows his determination to get back.
“He will do the fitness test today with Andy Franks to see if he can re-join training and we’ll see how he does. He will come back stronger because when they are out for a while they usually do. Rob (Sharp) and Nick (Oakley) work hard to get players back as soon as they can. “
