Alex complete loan signing of City and England starlet
.Crewe Alexandra have this afternoon finalised the loan signing of the Manchester City midfielder George Evans on a three-month loan agreement. The 18-year-old has signed until 3rd February 2014 after catching the eye for City’s Development Squad
The defensive midfield player has been a regular for Patrick Vieira’s Under-21 side and has also been capped by England at Under-16, Under-17s and was recently included in the Under-19 squad. The Cheadle-born Evans knows our young players Max Clayton and Ben Garratt from England get-togethers and our former player Nick Powell from the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Mexico that took place in the summer of 2011.
Evans’ form has been that impressive at Manchester City that he was rewarded with a place on the substitutes’ bench for the club’s Champions League tie against Ajax last season in Amsterdam.
The highly-rated youngster also featured for England at the Nordic Tournament at Under-16 level and the Montaigu Tournament a year later.
George will wear the number 22 shirt and the transfer is subject to Football Association clearance.
