Boss not ruling out loans to improve us

Steve Davis has not ruled out the possibility of bringing in some reinforcements on emergency loan after his side slipped to a fourth defeat in five matches at Fleetwood in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. Crewe, although enjoying the majority of the possession and arguably the better of the chances, somehow lost the game 4-0 at the Highbury Stadium to leave many scratching their heads at the scoreline.

Of course, football is never decided on the stats and it is what you do in both penalty areas that count but there were again some positive performances to take from the defeat. That is not to say that the team may need some help going forward, prompting Davis to look again at perhaps shaking things up.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We are looking whether there is anyone who can come in and give us a boost like (Lauri) Dalla Valle did last year. He gave us a boost and got the other forwards going as well.

“You have to be careful, you don't want to just add to numbers. And if he is someone who will make a difference it will be a decent player and does he want to come?

“Is he prepared to battle away with us? We have a good reputation of getting loan players in, clubs like their players to come to us because we will stick to our principles and they are given the opportunity to play.

“It is something we are not ruling out for sure.”
