City Are Dangerous

Davis says Crewe will have to improve on recent home form to get a result this weekend

Steve Davis is backing Sean O’Driscoll to turn around Bristol City’s stuttering start to the new season but he hopes that any revival is put on hold until the Alex play host to the Robins this weekend. Bristol City have surprisingly struggled in League One following their relegation from the Championship last season but Davis admits that any winless side is dangerous. Most recently Gillingham recorded a deserved 3-0 win at Gresty Road after making a similar start to Bristol City and Davis is wary of their threat.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Bristol City are a decent side who have come down from the Championship and they have a big budget and were expected to do well. They have found life hard in this league and that just goes to show how tough it has become.

“The league has improved with the likes of Bristol City and Wolves coming down and the clubs that have come up from League Two such as Bradford and Gillingham.

“Sean will be disappointed with the start they have made and he will be working hard to turn things around as soon as he can. That makes them a dangerous opponent and we will have to improve on our last two home games against Walsall and Gillingham.

“You want to be able to pit your wits against these teams and we are all looking forward to it. Sean has a good team, who play good football. They are battling to get out of their current situation and it should be a decent game.

He added: “They have had some high-scoring games so hopefully it will be entertaining game and we will come out on top.”
