Steve Davis says he will allow four or five to go on loan to balance books

Steve Davis has told the club's official web-site that it is time to refresh his squad moving forward and he has circulated the availability of some of his squad for loan. The Crewe Alexandra boss is willing to allow as many as five to move out on a short term loan basis in order for them to gain playing time and balance the budget slightly when it comes to wages.

The Crewe boss recently added the Manchester City Under-21 midfielder George Evans on loan until early February and has gone on record to say he would like to add one or two more options to improve his staring XI after a poor start to the season.

With naming names of those who could be available on loan Steve explained: "We work on a strict budget at Crewe and if we add to the squad it costs us money, so I have to try and balance it the other way.

"There will be four or five who haven't been in the team of late and have lost form, so I have circulated their names. I'm not looking to move them on, just loans. Players want to play and we have to do the right thing for the club and the player.

"They train all week with Saturday in mind so when they don't play it can become difficult so allowing some of them to go out on loan would suit all parties and we will what happens, but I just think it is time to freshen the squad up a bit ad bring some fresh quality into the group."
