Steve Davis says Bradford's momentum makes them dangerous

Steve Davis says that Bradford City’s success last season has given them enormous confidence to take into League One. Phil Parkinson Bantams won the League Two play-off in style back in May with a superb 3-0 win over Northampton just months after reaching the League Cup Final at Wembley. Although they lost that final to Swansea, they got over that quickly enough to build real momentum and clinch promotion.

Bradford have taken that superb momentum into League One and are currently in the play-off places. Due to that growing confidence, Steve Davis is expecting another tough encounter at the Alexandra Stadium this weekend.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Phil has done a really good job at Bradford, winning promotion through the play-offs and reaching the League Cup Final last season. They had a fantastic season and build up some real momentum.

“They have taken that into this season and have started really well. They have had a couple of players away on International duty and Nahki Wells has been injured, so they have had a bit of a dip and lost to Wolves on Saturday, but they are getting those players back and it is always key to have your better players available.

The Alex boss added: “We know it will be a tough game but we are exploring every avenue to give us the best chance of getting a result and restoring some pride after two bad results. We are keen to turn it around and become harder to beat again.”
