A Cup win could kick start our season

Crewe Alexandra have no fresh injury concerns heading into tomorrow night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie at Fleetwood with boss Steve Davis contemplating changes in the wake of Saturday’s 4-0 defeat to Notts County.

September. Boss Steve Davis is hoping that a positive result at the Highbury Stadium may provide a catalyst for improvement in the club’s League form. rdCrewe Alexandra have now not won in five games since defeating Accrington Stanley in the first round on 3

Ahead of the tricky tie, Steve said: “We do not have any fresh injury concerns going into the Fleetwood game. It’s only Mathias (Pogba) who is out long term but I am thinking about putting a different team and perhaps changing the system.

“We are still looking for that next win after beating Accrington in the last round and if we can do something against a good side, albeit from the league below, then that could give us the confidence to kick start our season.

“If we can go there and get a good result then that could be a good moment for us. We want to go there and get that win to make sure we go through to the next round and give us something to really build on.”
