Tootle Still A Doubt

Update on Crewe's injured trio

Crewe Alexandra’s injury trio of Mathias Pogba (knee), Ryan Colclough (groin) and Matt Tootle (foot) are all making progress but this weekend’s FA Cup at Wycombe Wanderers may come too soon for them.

Pogba has been given the go-ahead to start running again after overcoming the serious knee injury he suffered in pre-season against Manchester United. The former Wrexham man is still weeks away gaining the necessary sharpness though.

Ryan Colclough will resume training with the first team on Thursday after coming through the club’s fitness test. Colclough has missed the last month after landing awkwardly on his hip during an Under-21 draw with Birmingham City.

He was replaced by Jon Guthrie in the goalless draw. All three are making progress with Tootle’s movement better today, although the full-back is still rated as doubtful.  Tootle was a late withdrawal from Saturday’s match against Bradford after suffering a foot injury in training.

Crewe will definitely be without long-term absentee Ollie Turton (knee)
