Good news on Toots foot injury but defender still suffering discomfort

Crewe Alexandra has received positive news in regards to the injury to our consistent defender Matt Tootle with his schedule scan revealing no damage in his foot. Tootle has missed the club’s last two matches after suffering the injury in training ahead of our home encounter with Bradford City. The defender has felt discomfort in his foot since and being unable to train. He won't feature for the club at Brentford this weekend.

Ahead of the club’s trip to Brentford, the Alex boss said: “Toots hasn’t made it. He has had his scan and he has come back all clear so that is good for him and good for us. There is no apparent damage in the foot so that is a positive.

“That will allow him to push on and hopefully the pain will subside with the rest he has had.”
