Defender struggling with foot injury

Crewe Alexandra’s most consistent performer Matt Tootle is only rated as 50/50 for tomorrow’s home clash with Bradford City. Tootle injured the base of his foot after doing some extra training after yesterday’s session and is struggling to be fit to face the Bantams at the Alexandra Stadium.

The versatile defender has played in both full-back position and has recently been operating at left-back. Jon Guthrie waits on stand-by for a recall.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Matt is struggling with his foot. He did it when doing some extra work yesterday. He came back in and said he felt some discomfort there so we will have to see how he is today.

“He is a doubt though and is rated at 50/50 at the moment. If he is out then it would give Jon (Guthrie) a chance and we still have a good group.”
