New loan signing Tom Hitchcock says he is here to help our goal tally

and the son of the former Chelsea goalkeeper Kevin Hitchcock, is hoping that Crewe’ style of play will see him presented with some chances inside the opposition penalty area.thThe club’s new loan signing from Queens Park Rangers, Tom Hitchcock, is hoping his goals can push Crewe Alexandra up the League One table. The 21-year-old has signed on loan until January 7

The QPR striker looks set to make his Crewe debut against Crawley tomorrow, along with fellow new loanee, winger ‘Mesca.’ Hitchcock has already scored his first senior goal in the Championship when coming off the bench to score the winner against Ipswich earlier in the season.

On completing his loan switch, Tom told Crewe Alex Player: “I am pleased to have signed for Crewe and I just can’t wait to get going now. Hopefully, I can come in here and score some goals and help the club pick up some points.

“I have been playing for QPR’s Under-21 side but I wanted to come out and get some competitive game time. I really enjoyed it on loan at Plymouth and Bristol Rovers, so I am just looking forward to be doing the same at Crewe.

“There were a couple of other clubs interested on deadline day but once I knew that Crewe were interested that made my mind up really. I thought their style of play would suit mine and I have always admired the way they have played ever since I played against them for Blackburn in the Academy.

“I am just looking forward to testing myself in League One and I am ready for the challenge.”

There is a more from Tom now available on Crewe Alex Player. Why not subscribe now for as little as £4.49. Player could be the perfect Christmas gift for those avoid Crewe fans in your household.
