Davis satisfied after Bradford draw
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis was left encouraged after a 0-0 Bradford City at Gresty Road. Both teams had chances to win the game but neither team could find a decisive breakthrough as the match ended goalless.
Speaking after the game, Davis felt his side put in a good display and was happy with a point from the game.
Steve told crewealex.net: “We were hard to beat and managed to keep their front-two relatively quiet. They have caused Premier League defenders problems in the past so it was good to see our defenders cope well with them.
“The boys in front of the defenders did well too. I thought Granty (Anthony Grant) had his best game for us and made some vital interceptions, George has come in and done well and I thought the forwards worked really hard. I am picking out individual players, but they all contributed.
“I thought it was a good 0-0 for us and I thought it was a good game. We have tried to get the ball down and pass it which was difficult because the game was played in swirling wind and rain.
“We have made six changes to the side but the lads have come in and knitted together really well. Like I said it is a positive result for us. If we can play like that we will be fine. We just need to find that cutting edge.
“I have said to the players that was a big step forward for us. Hopefully the fans will be encouraged by that and now we have to carry that on.”
