Davis aiming to add one or two to the group

Following the heavy defeat to Brentford at the weekend, Steve Davis and his assistant Neil Baker will continue in their search for reinforcements on loan. The club will be working towards adding one or two players if possible before next Thursday’s loan deadline and although Crewe Alexandra would not be able to play any new player in tomorrow’s FA Cup tie against Wycombe, the boss is hoping to do something before Saturday’s derby clash with Port Vale.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We have continued to make phone calls and have been doing that for the past two weeks. It is being on going for a while in regards to bringing in one or two that could come in and possibly help the group.

“If we could get one or two quality players in, it could give everyone in the club a lift and make a difference in both penalty areas.

“We cannot play them in the FA cup replay but we would like to try and do something before the weekend. We’ll see and it is important we act now. We would do more than one if I thought it would improve us but it is not so straightforward getting those of high quality in both financially and if the player is willing to drop down divisions.”
