Loan signing George Evans looks forward to this weekend's FA Cup clash at Wycombe

After making his full-debut for the club at home to Bradford City at the weekend, the club’s recent loan acquisition is now looking forward to his first taste of FA Cup football.

Teenage midfielder George Evans made an impressionable debut in the 0-0 draw with the Bantams with his late dipping shot nearly securing all the points for the Railwaymen.

Evans, 18, took the place of the current club captain Abdul Osman in midfield but certainly wasn’t fazed by the responsibility placed on his young shoulders.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Wycombe, Evans told us: “I was buzzing after the manager handed me my full debut at the weekend. It is a fantastic club and a fantastic team and if we can continue to play like we did on Saturday then I am sure we will climb the league.

“It was a great experience for me and a fantastic day. It is just a shame we couldn’t get the win we deserved because I thought it was a good performance from us.

“I just want to take that forward and play as many game as I can for the club. I want to show the fans and the manager what I can do.

“It will be great to play in the FA Cup. It will be another great experience and hopefully we can go to Wycombe and get a result and go on a run in the competition.

“I am just looking forward to it and playing again.”
