Has To Be The Right One

Steve Davis says he would consider players in every position if he would improve us

Steve Davis says he would be interested in bringing in any new players in on loan in any position if it would improve his side. The Alex boss has set his sights on trying to bring in a new centre forward or attacking midfield player to boost his side’s threat in the final third of the pitch and take some of the pressure off his back four by remaining in games.

Saying that, the Alex boss says that he if was offered or could find players to improve his options then he would do it, regardless of position.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I have said that a striker and attacking midfield player who could improve us in the final third of the pitch is our priority but if there is anything out there that I think is better than what we had and it was within our budget then we would consider it.

“We are looking for improvement in all areas of the pitch because we are not doing well enough in both penalty areas. I would look to improve the team wherever we could.

“If we could get the right player in then that could give everyone a lift. It might just ignite the team and get the others going a bit. It was a bit like that with Lauri Dalla Valle last season. He got others going.

He added: “He would have to be the right one. We need the right player who is going to make a difference to us. “
