Boss looking to add more reinforcements before next week's deadline
Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he is looking to re-invigorate his squad by bringing in reinforcements and offloading a few to make room. The Crewe Alexandra boss has stated that after a poor run of results in the first third of the season, he has to be pro-active after re-assessing the group.
The boss has already added the Fulham goalkeeper Neil Etheridge to his options and he would like to bring in one or two more before Thursday’s loan deadline.
Steve told crewealex.net: “I said I would assess things after a third of the season and would make changes if necessary. I think that point has come. The patience has been tested and you either to continue to stick with them or you make changes.
“There is a lot of talent here but there is not enough of them producing it. That can be down to their attitude to work, or their ability. We have perhaps made mistakes with some of the ones we have brought in. That can happen and we don’t hide behind that.
“Some of them have not been good enough or have not been up to the standard we expect or require. If you make mistakes it is about admitting it and putting it right and that is what I will do.
He added: “Hopefully, we can get some new additions in to give us a boost and allow some to go out. We will find a way to be better and make progress and we have started the process.”
