Davis Targets Creativity

1 November 2013

Alex boss says he will step up his search for an attacking midfielder next week

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he will step up his search for a creative midfield player next week. The Alex boss is after an attack-minded midfield player to assist with getting better service into the front players and he has already opened talks with a Premier League club in the hope of attracting the club’s desired target.

Davis has already signed the Manchester City Under-21 captain George Evans on a three-month loan deal but wants another to complement the middle of the pitch.

Steve told “I would like to bring in another midfield player if we can. I want a creative one, a real passer who can get it into the forward players better. We have tried to play a different way this season but we need to combine the midfield with the attack a lot better.

“We could do with some more quality in there and I have already had dialogue with the club about getting a particular one in. The signs are good because the club are keen for the player to get out and play some games.

“The player is keen to come so if we can step it up and do something next week then we would. He is a young player from a Premier League club and he is eager to get some competitive game time.”
