QPR striker signs on loan to help forward line

Crewe Alexandra have completed the loan signing of Queens Park Rangers forward Tom Hitchcock. The 21-year-old has agreed a deal with the Railwaymen that will see him stay with the club until January 7th and he will go straight in to the Alex squad for the visit of Crawley Town on Saturday.

Promising forward Hitchcock flourished in his first season with Rangers after arriving from Blackburn Rovers in July 2012, scoring five goals for the Elite Development Squad prior to a loan move to Bristol Rovers in December of last year.

The frontman made 17 appearances in total for the Gas, netting three times – his first-ever league goals – in just seven starts. Hitchcock, son of R’s goalkeeping coach Kevin, penned a new deal in June to extend his stay until the summer of 2014.

He started this season on the fringes of the Rangers team and scored a dramatic late winner in QPR’s 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town. He will now look to further his development with the Alex.

Tom will wear the number 17 shirt while he is with the Alex and subscribers to Crewe Alex Player will be able to see an interview with Tom tomorrow.
