Ryan Colclough hoping to return to training next week after hamstring set-back

Ryan Colclough will face a race against time to face local neighbours Port Vale next weekend after aggravating his hamstring on his return to training. Colclough made a successful return to training last weekend from a hip compliant and had been performing well before he suffered his slight set-back.

The Burslem-based Colclough is hoping though to train early next week to hopefully put himself in contention for the first local derby of the season. Winger Colclough certainly won’t be travelling this weekend and has little chance of featuring against Wycombe in the FA Cup on Tuesday evening.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Ryan is making real progress and was training well before he suffered some tightness in his hamstring. It isn’t too serious but has been a set-back for him.

“It is probably down to the work he has been doing trying to get back. There will be no new inclusions for this weekend. It will be the same group but some of the ones who have been out could be back next week for us.

The boss added: “We have a strong squad but it is still disappointing not to have the likes of Pogs, Toots and Coco available because they would certainly be in-and-around the team.”
