Ryan resumes training after knee injury

Crewe Alexandra have been boosted by the news that young winger Ryan Colclough successfully came through his first training session yesterday. The 18-year-old has missed the last month due to a re-occurrence of his hip and groin injury, but he has suffered no ill-effects after joining in his first session on Thursday.

This weekend’s FA Cup tie at Wycombe has come a little quickly for him to be considered but the following weeks’ trip to Brentford could see the return of the Staffordshire-born youngster.

Colclough started the season in good form, scoring two goals against Tranmere to seal a 2-1 win back in August and his trickery and skill made him a constant threat to League One defences.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Ryan resumed training yesterday and he did very well. He came through it fine.

“He needs some game time and he can get that in training. This weekend has come around too quickly for him but with more training sessions he will be back in contention soon.”
