Neil Baker on a major set back for Clayton and club
The club’s assistant manager Neil Baker has told Crewe Alex Player that it is a blow to lose young Max Clayton through injury. Clayton is expected to be out for months after fracturing his ankle in Tuesday’s FA Cup defeat to Wycombe Wanderers.
Talking exclusively to Crewe Alex Player, Baker told said: “It is disappointing for us and for Max because he is a young lad trying to make his way in the game. It is a set-back for him and it has been a season of set-backs for us.
“It can happen and that’s football and we can either sulk and talk about not having Max, Pogs or Ryan for a number of weeks or can we work hard with the group we have and try and improve them.
“We will work hard to see if we can improve the group and perhaps add one or two. We would like to bring in some reinforcements if we can and we will work hard towards doing that before next week’s deadline.”
