Will Be Great To See Westy

Neil Baker says Ash Westwood will deserve a great reception when he returns with Villa

Neil Baker, the club’s assistant manager, is looking forward to welcoming back our former Academy graduate Ashley Westwood when Aston Villa take on the Railwaymen in a pre-season friendly on Friday 26th July.

Baker is pleased that the Crewe-born youngster will be given a good reception from the home supporters after he left so quickly on deadline day last August.

Bakes told the club’s official web-site: "To see Westy coming back with Aston Villa will be nice for our fans because he left quickly.

“They didn’t get chance to show their appreciation so now they will get chance to do that and see a Premier League side with some fantastic players. We are looking forward to
it.

“Credit to Westy. He has gone on and has shown he can progress in couple of years here.  He understandably took a couple of months to settle in at that level but he became a part of the furniture there come the end of the season.”
