Youngster agrees one-year deal with the Alex

Second year scholar Billy Waters has followed Liam Nolan in agreeing professional terms with the club. Waters has this afternoon signed a one-year professional deal with the Alex taking him until the summer of 2014.

Waters is a technically gifted central midfielder who showed he has an eye for a goal with a stunning strike in the F.A. Youth Cup win over Carlisle United earlier in the season.

The 18-year-old’s impressive displays for the Alex youth team saw him regularly feature for the Crewe U21 side. Again Waters impressed sufficiently and often travelled with the Crewe first-team squad where he was named on the bench on several occasions.

Waters will now be looking for more of the same over the coming 12-months and will be targeting more first-team involvement for the Alex.
