Steve Davis hopes more supporters will become season ticket holders after successful 12 months

Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager, is hoping the club’s fantastic success over the past 12 months will encourage more supporters’ to attend matches at Gresty Road during the forthcoming season. The Alex boss is pleased that our average gate has increased by 700 following promotion and progression - but he wants more home supporters to come and get behind their local team (or not so local) next season.

Davis fully appreciates that the more season ticket holders and members we have, the greater the budget he has for players and wages in his squad.  The Alex manager is in full support of our new policy of offering a renew price for our current season ticket holders and has thanked them for their ‘terrific backing’ over arguably the most successful period in the club’s history.

An adult season ticket holder will continue to play just £12.39 per match, presently the cheapest offer in League One.

Steve has told crewealex.net: “The support we have received has been terrific ever since I took over, but especially over the last 12 months. They have played a major role in our success because they have remained behind the players and got them over the line in certain games.

“When you need them, the Crewe supporters get behind the players and that is vital for any successful side. I’ve said for a long time that to be a success at anything, you need a lot of good people pulling in the same direction and that is what we have been able to generate here.

“When I am presented with the figures, I can see that we are extremely competitive with other clubs in the division. We are one of the cheapest and if we can add a few hundred more onto the gate, then that is only going to us help us in our objectives.

The boss added: “I think we have provided some great moments over the past season, so I can only encourage you to renew or buy a new season ticket and let’s keep pushing on.”
