Turton speaks to Player on his Alex contract
Crewe Alexandra’s Ollie Turton says he was delighted to agree a new one-year deal with the Railwaymen. The versatile 20-year-old signed his new contract earlier this week, and says he can’t wait to get back to work.
Turton says it will be business as usual when he returns for pre-season training along with the Alex squad at the end of June, and is looking forward to the battle of fighting for a regular place in the Alex side.
After signing his deal, Ollie told crewealex.net: “I am happy to be here for another year and hopefully I can get more football under my belt. Hopefully I can have a good pre-season and fight my way into the team and become a regular.
“Ever since I have been a professional I have faced the battle to become a regular in the team and next year will be no different. It was good to get a run of games in the side, hopefully I can get some more now.
“As a team, we weren’t too far from the play-offs last season, so hopefully if we can improve at the back and cut out the silly goals that we concede, we will be aiming for that again.”
