Nolan: "Hard Work Starts Again"

Young midfielder on his professional deal

Midfielder Liam Nolan has told crewealex.net that it was a dream come true to sign his first professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the Alex earlier this week and says he can’t wait to return to the Alex for pre-season training to begin life as a professional footballer.

Nolan, who has twice featured on the bench for the Alex, is now targeting further involvement in the first-team during the coming months.

After signing his contract, Liam told crewealex.net: “It is unbelievable to sign a professional deal. As a youngster coming through the ranks your aim is to get that contract, so to achieve it is brilliant.

“But the hard work doesn’t stop now, it starts all over again. I need to make sure I keep my fitness up over the summer and come back to get a really good pre-season under my belt.

“Pre-season will hopefully give me a chance to get some games under my belt and show the manager what I can do in a first-team game.

“I have managed to get on the bench twice for the first-team, and now the plan is to try and get more involved with the squad. I understand that won’t be easy because we have a lot of competition for places but that is the next big aim.“
