Boss pleased with pre-season fixtures

Steve Davis is pleased to have added Championship side Blackburn Rovers to the club’s list of friendlies in July. Rovers recently Gary Bowyer as their new manager after a successful caretaker spell alongside our former Academy coach Terry McPhillips.

Steve is pleased to have a pre-season fixture list made up of non-league sides as well as some top opponents such as Ashley Westwood’s Aston Villa.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I am delighted we managed to secure a game against Blackburn. We have a good mixture of games and that is what we aim for.

“You have games when you should have a lot of the ball and that helps you in attacking sense and what we want to do in possession.

“Playing the likes of Blackburn and Aston Villa will test our defensive resolve. There is a good attraction for the supporters and a good blend to test us.”
