Hulse An Option?

Boss on the possibility of a return of local lad Rob

Steve Davis says that a ‘Rob Hulse type’ of centre-forward is high on his priority list this summer but he admits that our former striker will probably be out of our price range.

Hulse, 33, looks set to leave Queens Park Rangers this summer after being loaned out to Millwall most recently and although the Crewe Alexandra is an admirer, he stresses that he hasn’t considered him.

When asked about the possibility of bringing Hulse back to Gresty Road, Steve told crewealex.net: “I don’t think we could afford Rob’s wages! I do know Rob and he knows the Championship and knows what it required in the lower leagues.

“I don’t know what the situation is with him but he is the type we are looking for. I am looking for that type of forward who can help us and give us a different option. All the top teams in this division have that option available to them.

“Rob is a local lad and could help our younger lads, but I seriously haven’t given it much thought. I don’t know if it could be a viable option for us. Who knows what might be available.”
