Nolan and Waters not here to make up numbers
The hard work now starts for young midfielders Billy Waters and Liam Nolan after they were offered professional contracts by the club. Young Nolan has already signed his one-year deal and the club are hopeful that Waters will follow suit in time. Both young players were on the substitutes’ bench for the first-team last season and gained invaluable experience when travelling away with the first team squad.
Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra said: “Liam and Billy are two midfield players who we hope will be very good additions to the first-team squad. They are both talented lads and now they will have to work hard to make an impact at that level.
“They will have to hit the ground running and try and get in and around the squad again. They have the pre-season to play in some games and prove that they were worth that chance. I am sure they are raring to go and will give it their best shot.”
