Steve Davis looks forward to summer of hard work
Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that is thriving with the challenge of making Crewe Alexandra competitive in League One. The Railwaymen will have a host of entertaining fixtures to look forward to, including recently relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers, Peterborough and Bristol City, as well as promoted local rivals Port Vale.
Steve told us: “It is a great challenge at this club and one I enjoy. It is arguably more of a challenge because of the financial restrictions we have. We work to a strict budget and rightly so. We do not work above our means to safeguard the future of the club.
“We know what sort of budget a team like Wolves will have. They will have millions from their parachute payment coming down from the Premier League but sometimes that can go against you, because you have to try and keep everyone happy. Team spirit and togetherness can take you a long way.
“It is hard work at a club like Crewe because it is harder to attract the better players, but it can be done. We always do our best that way and it is a great environment to work in."
