Boss confirms interest in Shots striker Danny Hylton
Steve Davis has confirmed that one of the players he is interested in attracting to South Cheshire is Aldershot’s out of contract striker Danny Hylton. The 24-year-old is looking to remain in the Football League following the Shots relegation last season and Davis is hoping he can convince the promising forward to head north to improve his game.
The Alex boss accepts that he may face competition for his signature from other interested parties, but is hoping that Crewe’s reputation for developing players could sway in our favour.
Davis has also spoken to two other potential transfer targets and described the meetings as ‘promising’.
Steve told crewealex.net: “Danny is a player we have looked at. He has been linked with other clubs as well so we know we face competition.
“He is a one-club man having come through at Aldershot and perhaps he wants to broaden his horizon and challenge himself. He is one on our list and we hope we can attract him here so he can improve and get better.
“He would be a great asset because he has a lot of strengths and we believe he would improve if he did come here. Crewe is a coaching club and players do improve here, as the ones we signed last season have shown.”
