John Bowler looking forward to big clubs arriving at Gresty Road this coming season
John Bowler is hopeful that the arrival of some big clubs coming to the Alexandra Stadium next season will encourage more supporters to consider a season ticket.
The Crewe Chairman and his fellow board members have kept season tickets at a very competitive rate in relation to other League One clubs and with the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield United, Swindon, Preston and Coventry coming to South Cheshire, it is hoped that he can exceed an average gate of 5,000.
The Alex chairman, who was honoured with an LMA Special Merit award on Monday evening, told the club’s official web-site: “There are some big clubs coming to Crewe next season and it is important that the local community and the supporters continue to come out and support their team.
“It is important to have those supporters with us, both at home and away. I think the supporters know we are an ambitious clubs and want to go forward together.
“The support we generate, especially at the home games makes an incredible difference to the players. They respond to the support they are given and is it always vital to have a good, strong following.”
