Manager pleased to keep his squad together
Steve Davis is pleased that the club’s forward planning has allowed him to enter the summer with none of his major assets out of contract. The Alex boss has a good nucleus of his squad and has recently exercised a clause in AJ Leitch-Smith’s contract to keep him for a further year at least.
Offers have also been made to fringe first team players Ollie Turton and Jon Guthrie.
The Alex manager says that forward thinking has allowed him to keep his promising squad together.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “It is not easy for lower league clubs to keep their squad together because players sign shorter contracts, but we have been able to keep the ones we want.
“That has come about because of the forward planning we do and making sure we look ahead as to not be caught out.
“It is always on-going and we will sit down again and think about who we want to keep and look to extend their contracts before Christmas.”
