Premier League side to visit Gresty Road

Crewe Alexandra are delighted to announce that they will be hosting Aston Villa for a pre-season friendly on Friday July 26th. The game will kick-off at 7.30pm and will see Ashley Westwood make a return to Gresty Road following his deadline day switch to Villa last August.

The game will give Steve Davis a real chance to test his squad against Premier League quality, and Davis is relishing the task.

“The Villa game will be a great challenge for the boys and is a great game to look forward to,” Steve explained to crewealex.net. “They are a talented young side with some really gifted footballers so we are all looking forward to it.

“It will be great to see Ash back at Crewe as well. He has done brilliantly well since his move last summer and it is great to see one of our boys doing so well at the top level. Of course they have plenty more quality players as well.

“So hopefully we can get a good crowd down to support us because it should be a really good evening of football.”

Tickets for the game will be priced at £8 for adults, £4 for senior citizens and £2 for U16s. They will be on sale soon.
