Steve Davis gives us his reaction following 2-0 at CrawleyFollowing Crewe Alexandra's disappointing 2-0 away defeat at Crawley's Broadfield Stadium, the Alex boss Steve Davis told crewealex.net: "We gave away two disappointing goals from our point of view, especially the first one which was really soft. We should be defending that type of situation a lot better than we did.
"In the end we have been caught out by two quick fire goals and Proctor has taken those chances, when we never looked like creating a really good chance. It was an opportunity for others to stake their claims and we lacked that real quality. It showed that we missed our big players who have created and scored goals for us this season. It was disappointing because we huffed and puffed but didn't create too much in the final third.
"I am disappointed because I wanted those in the possession of the shirts to show more and prove that they are up to it. The only ones who really emerged with any credit for us was the goalkeeper, who has made some good saves again and the two centre halves who held us together at times. They were put under too much pressure because we didn't keep the ball well enough.
"Nathan has a knee injury and couldn't continue and Gregor Robertson came off at half-time after complaining of an Achilles injury. They will be checked over tomorrow to see the extent of those injures ahead of the Easter games. It is a little early to say how bad they are."
