Alex boss is hoping our Under-21 fixture against Nottingham Forest can go ahead
Steve Davis was hugely disappointed that our npower League One fixture against Danny Wilson’s Sheffield United was postponed due to a frozen pitch yesterday. The Alex boss was present when the pitch inspection was carried out at just after midday and now another of our fixtures has had to be re-arranged for next month. The Sheffield United home fixture has been re-arranged for Tuesday 23rd April.
Now the club will have to wait and see if our Under-21 fixture with Nottingham Forest passes an inspection later today. It is going to be a hectic end to the season for the Railwaymen, who still have 12 fixtures to fulfill.
Steve told crewealex.net: “We have a hectic schedule and having another game hasn’t helped that. We still have four U21 games to squeeze in and I am going to need everyone available. All the players will all be important to us and they will have to be ready. They could all get a chance.
“If the pitch passes an inspection then we'll put a strong team out against Forest. It will be nice to have a home game and it will give me a chance to have a look at the game in person. If it is on then I want to see who is pushing for a place.”
