Steve: "A Real Battling Display From Us"

Manager's post-match reaction after his side reach 50 points

Steve Davis was pleased with his side's hard working performance as they came through a tough encounter at a spirited Colchester United side to collect all three points and move to 50 points in League One. A penalty from Luke Murphy and another goal from Mathias Pogba sealed three great points for the Railwaymen.

After the game, Davis told the club's official web-site: "It was a good three points for us because this is never an easy place to come and Joe Dunne has got them going. They have been in a decent run of from and are fighting for their lives. It had to be a real battling and hard working performance from us and it was. We have come through it and made sure we haven't lost three in a row.

"It was important that that didn't happen and I am pleased that the result has taken us to 50 points. We want to carry on and win every game we take part in. That is not always possible but the fans who are here could see how much it meant to us and the players.

"Murph's penalty was very good. He has been practicing them and he tucked it away very coolly. Pogba has got 14 goals and fair play to him, he always picks up good positions and is prepared to get shots off. If you look at the stats he has the most shots and he was composed again today. We managed to get behind their back line and he has dummied to go on his left and come back in on his right foot. The keeper hasn't held it and it has crept in but Pogs was there again ad that is why we has managed to get a n impressive amount of goals this season.

"Pogbs can frustrate you as a manager sometimes, probably more than anyone else with his decision making but he keeps getting in there and it was the difference again today."
