Young defender earns international call
Creqw Alexandra's George Ray has linked up with the Wales under-21 squad.
The 19-year-old, who has yet to make senior appearance for the Railwaymen, had been on standby for Friday’s under-21 Euro 2015 qualifier against Moldova.
However after Swansea City's Danny Alfei and Ipswich Town's Elliott Hewitt, both defenders, dropped out of the squad for Friday's match, Ray has now joined up with the squad.
Ray has been a regular for the Crewe U21 side this term, and it now appears that his impressive form has been noted.
He joins Mathias Pogba and Max Clayton in earning international recognition of late.
