Steve Davis on International Call-Ups
Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he wouldn’t stand in the way of any of his players if they are required for International duty but he is thankful that as one departs, another comes in.
Davis will lose Mathias Pogba for Saturday’s trip to Crawley Town after he was called up for International duty with Guinea, but he will welcome back Max Clayton following his involvement for England Under-19s against Turkey this evening at Telford.
Pogba signed off with a brace against MK Dons on Tuesday night and will be back in training for our Good Friday fixture at Bury.
Steve told the crewealex.net: “We will have Max back for the weekend but we now lose Pogbs. It is unfortunate because he is in good form and a great threat, but I wouldn’t stop them going to play for their country at whatever level.
“We were a bit short on Tuesday night because Byron (Moore) was injured with a dead leg and Brad (Inman) is obviously in Newcastle. Byron should be back for the weekend and Max had been in good form as well before he went off with England. We will assess how he is, but I am sure he will travel.”
