Nathan Ellington tells Crewe Alex Player that he is desperate to do well

Nathan Ellington has told the club’s official web-site that he is looking to kick start his career again and help Crewe Alexandra finish as high as possible in npower League One. Crewe reached the 50 points mark with a 2-1 win over Colchester United on Saturday and Ellington is hoping to contribute with some starts and goals after signing until the end of the season on Friday.

Ellington, 31 was an unused substitute at Colchester and is hoping to mark his debut for his latest club against Sheffield United this evening.

After signing until the end of the season, Ellington told Crewe Alex Player: “I am just happy to have signed and to be part of the team. Hopefully I can contribute as we aim for the play-offs.

“It felt great to be part of a squad again and to get the win as well topped the weekend, it was great to get back to winning ways.

“You can’t beat first team football. You have to be involved to know the difference. I want to play and score as many goals as I can. I have been doing that since I have been here. I enjoy it here. The type of football Crewe play suits me.

“Hopefully I will be successful and if I am the team will benefit. I haven't played that much over recent years but I still feel I can do really well and I think I have shown that so far.

Nathan added: “That's why the manager has decided to sign me and I am happy that a manager can see it. The most important thing is if a manager and assistant manager are on your side that's half the battle.”
