Alex to check on winger after he suffers dead leg

Steve Davis will wait on the fitness levels of his winger/forward Byron Moore before he decides on his starting line-up for the visit of MK Dons tomorrow night. Moore opened the scoring against Shrewsbury Town at the weekend, but the Alex had to settle for a point after Luke Summerfield headed an equaliser for the Shrews.

Moore suffered a dead leg in the game and is rated as a doubt for tomorrow’s match at Gresty Road. Ryan Colclough has been withdrawn from the club’s Under-21 fixture against Leeds United this afternoon at Reaseheath (KO 1pm) as a precautionary cover. Nathan Ellington, who made his debut as a substitute on Saturday will also be used sparingly.

Crewe are without Bran Inman (ankle), Jon Guthrie (hernia) and Brendan Daniels (hamstring). Max Clayton is away on International duty with England Under-19s and unavailable for selection.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Byron is struggling at the minute. He has a bit of a dead leg. Everyone else apart from the ones we know about are alright. Jon is out, Brad is back at Newcastle and Brendan is out for at least 3 to 4 weeks with a hamstring tear.”
