Inman out and Aneke struggling to make trip

Steve Davis says he may consider making some changes for this weekend’s trip to Colchester United. The trip to face Joe Dunne’s side may come too quickly for Bradden Inman, who is still struggling with an ankle injury and Chuks Aneke is also rated as doubtful due to slight tendinitis in his knee.

Michael West is not under consideration due to injury and Jon Guthrie is ruled out for the season after undergoing a hernia operation earlier this week.

The Alex boss told the club’s official web-site: “Brad is progressing well but this game will come around too quickly for him. We hope he will back training with us next week.  Chuks is also a doubt. He has some tendinitis in his knee.

“We have had two poor results and are looking to get going again. We have had a good week and a relaxing week. We have a lot of games coming up and the players need to look after themselves. Rest will be important.

“We have a good squad here, so we are not complaining but we are a bit limited on the changes we can make. We could look at the system and have options there also. This group of players can surprise you and they have done this season.

“I’ve told them we want to finish as high as we can and the players want that as well.”
