Davis Unlikey To Loan

21 March 2013

Boss says he could use his own youngsters instead of loaning in

Steve Davis says it is unlikely he will bring anyone else in on loan before next week's final transfer deadline. Football League clubs are still permitted to bring in players in on emergency loan, but after recently adding the experienced Nathan Ellington to his squad, another move looks unlikely at this stage.

At the moment, Davis only has Brad Inman (ankle), Jon Guthrie (hernia), Byron Moore (dead leg) and Luke Murphy (groin) out injury. The injuries to Moore and Murphy are thought not to be too serious and they have an outside chance of being fit and available for selection for Crawley this weekend.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We will look to utilise the squad and perhaps give some of the younger ones a chance, so we can have a look at them. There are contracts to play for and I may give some an opportunity to have some game time.

“I will never write this group of because I know what they are capable of. Who knows how far they can go because they have shown that on their day they can beat anyone. If they can reach their level of consistency then anything is possible.”
