Davis: "Places Are Up For Grabs"

19 March 2013

Steve says he could jiggle around his personnel with fixtures coming thick and fast

Steve Davis says he will consider jiggling around his side around to make sure he gives everyone fit and fresh. The Alex boss will certainly consider giving winger Byron Moore a rest against the MK Dons this evening after he received a dead leg against Shrewsbury at the weekend. He will also have to make a change up front with Max Clayton away on International duty with the England Under-19s.

With the likes of Ryan Colclough, Chuks Aneke, Matt Tootle, Adam Dugdale and new signing Nathan Ellington all pushing for a place, the competition is certainly hotting up ahead of the club’s trip to Wembley for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final on 7th April against southend United.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I could jiggle things around and make some changes at some point because we have a bit of a fixture congestion coming up, especially with the Under-21 games we have to fit in as well.

“The priority is the first team and one or two may need a go, Ryan (Colclough) could be involved with the first team and Nathan only played part of the Under-21 game yesterday. They will all have a part to play at some point, so they have got to keep themselves fit and available.”
