Crewe expect Aneke and Inman to train again this week

Steve Davis is hoping to have Chuks Aneke and Bradden Inman available to train this week. Aneke missed the weekend win at Colchester due to a slight knee problem and Inman has not featured since injuring his ankle in the 3-0 defeat at Hartlepool.

The Crewe Alexandra manager is hoping to have the two attack minded midfielders back in training this week, but tomorrow night’s home clash with Sheffield United may come too early for them. New signing Nathan Ellington could make his debut for the club at some point against Danny Wilson’s Blades, as Steve Davis looks to freshen up his starting XI.

Winger Michael West is also hoping to train this week but it is unlikely he will be involved for the Under-21s against Nottingham Forest at Wednesday.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We really do have a hectic schedule coming up. We have those postponed games to play and four Under-21 fixtures to squeeze in as well, so it is a busy time for the players.

“We will assess them as we go along and see who is available for the Under-21s on Wednesday night. We will look to put a strong team out against Forest.

He added: “I am hoping to have Brad back by the end of the week and that is the same with Westy. Chuks is okay and should train over the next couple of days.”
