Tottenham full-back joins Crewe until the end of the season.
Crewe Alexandra have this afternoon swooped to bring in Tottenham Hotspur youngster Kevin Stewart on loan until the end-of-the season. 19-year-old Stewart can play in either full-back position and will link up with the Alex squad ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Bury.
He went on to play seven matches in the NextGen Series and featured 13 times for the Under-18s, including three starts in the FA Youth Cup and his first goals for the Academy.
Kevin impressed enough in Spurs XI matches at the start of 2011-12 to earn a place in the squad for our Europa League group opener against PAOK and was an unused substitute in Greece.
Stewart is yet to make his full debut for Tottenham, but enjoyed a successful season with the Under-18 side in 2010-11, turning out on 27 occasions with 24 of them in the starting line-up.
Stewart has continued his progression this term and has featured on a regular basis for the Tottenham U21 side as well as well been an unused substitute in Tottenham’s 3-1 Europa League win over Panathinaikos.
Kevin will now look to gain more experience in the senior game with Crewe. He will wear the number 34 shirt while in South Cheshire and will be eligible for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final with Southend at Wembley.
